SAS to launch nonstop flights between Miami and Stockholm Oct 29

Scandinavian Airlines or SAS is planning to expand its services to Miami in October this year. The airline has been prompted by growing passenger demand after the launch of nonstop flights to Oslo and Copenhagen from Miami International Airport last year. The airline will now be launching new nonstop flights between Miami and Stockholm effective from October 29, 2017. SAS is presently offering flights services to seven destinations in the United States.

Leading Scandinavian carrier will be operating new flights on the Stockholm-Miami route once every week on Sundays. The route will be served with an Airbus A330 aircraft configured with a total of 266 seats. The flight will depart from Miami at 4:05 pm and arrive in Stockholm at 7:35 am local time. The return flight will make its departure from Stockholm at 9:25 am and reach Miami at 2:15 pm.

Annelie Nässén, SAS’ Vice President of Global Sales, said, “The company is looking forward to expand its services to the United States with the launch of yet another direct route to Miami from Stockholm. This has been because of the increasing passenger demand, and also owing to popularity of Miami. We have always accorded top priority to our customers and want to make their travel experience quite special and unique.”

González, Miami-Dade Aviation Director, said, “It’s momentous moments for all of us that Miami International Airport has been chosen by SAS for launching its first-ever nonstop flights between Miami and Stockholm. The airport will be now serving a total of 25 European destinations, including five major countries in the Scandinavian region, which will be the biggest ever in the history of Miami International Airport. SAS celebrated 70 years of its founding last year. The first service between Stockholm and New York was launched om September 17, 1946.”
