Singapore Airlines to operate A380 over Singapore-Tokyo-Los Angeles route

Singapore Airlines recently announced that it will start operating its A380 aircraft over the Singapore-Tokyo-Los Angeles route from 1st July 2011.

The initial launch of the aircraft was due on 27th March 2011, but due to the recent disastrous earthquake in Japan, there was a delay in the launch of the new aircraft. With this launch Los Angeles will become the airline’s eighth destination to be served with superjumbo aircraft.

The new flight will depart from Singapore at 09.25am and will arrive in Narita at 05.30pm and after a halt of approximately an hour will depart from Narita at 07.15pm and will arrive in Los Angeles at 01.30pm the next day. The round trip flight will then depart from Los Angeles at 03.45pm and will arrive in Narita at 07.15pm the following day and then after a halt of approximately an hour the flight will depart from Narita at 08.50pm and arrive back in Singapore at 03.05am the following day.

The new launch is the follow up of recent suspension of its daily direct flight services between Singapore and Los Angeles.
