United Airlines recently launched new bundle options aimed at offering enhanced travel experience in main cabin. The packages have been named Economy Plus Essentials and Economy Plus Enhanced. The packages have been designed to offer perks similar to elite travelers and are sold on trip-by-trip basis. The packages can be added during the time of booking each flight.
A spokesperson of United Airlines explained that an extra checked bag would be added along with Economy Plus seat to an outbound or inbound flight. These perks would form the part of Economy Plus Essentials.
However, the privileges in Economy Plus Enhanced would be somewhat greater in comparison to Economy Plus Essentials. According to the airline, Economy Plus Enhanced package would comprise of all the perks of Economy Plus Essentials in addition to Premier Access for priority security and boarding. Those buying this package would also be offered extra award miles as well as a pass enabling access to the United Club lounge.
The prices for upgrading the packages would however vary according to seat availability, length of the trip, aircraft type and a host of other factors. United Airlines has though assured that the customers would be able to save up to 20 percent when purchasing Economy Plus Essentials, and up to 25 percent when buying Economy Plus Enhanced.
Travel experts said that the two packages might not prove to be of the best value for all those doing a lot of flying and already earning perks in the process. Those travelers who are looking forward to few improvements during a casual trip can look forward to benefit from these packages.
