US Airways to expand flights at Charlotte this summer

US Airways is ready to elate you with its recent announcement. Now, you can look forward to multiple options and plane tickets at competitive rates for travel to European destinations from Charlotte. The airline has indicated that it will buttress its Charlotte hub this summer as it plans more departures during the peak season.

The airline said that it will be adding four new nonstop European seasonal destinations this summer from Charlotte, the fourth-largest single airline hub in the world. With the launch of four new routes to Barcelona, Brussels, Lisbon and Manchester, flights to European destinations from Charlotte will now go up to 10. This also includes year-round service to London Heathrow and Frankfurt, and seasonal service to Dublin, Madrid, Rome and Paris. Until 2009 London and Frankfurt were the only destinations. Ever since, the increase in the number of destinations has been dramatic.

According to US Airways, only about 25 percent of its Charlotte traffic originates in Charlotte, which is though relatively low number. The airline however said that the connections are strong and airport costs have been maintained at the lowest level of any major airport in the United States.
