The Bisol dynasty of winemakers brought the Venissa restaurant into being. Their main objective was to establish a spring-to-autumn restaurant where dishes would be served using only freshly-procured local ingredients. Some of the vegetables used for preparing exotic dishes are grown in the vegetable gardens of the restaurant itself. The other purpose of establishing this restaurant was to produce a fine wine from Dorona, a near-extinct grape variety. The founders of the restaurant achieved success on both the fronts.
