Virgin America Ranked Number One in Overall Airline Quality

As per a recent study done regarding overall airline quality, Virgin America was rated number one. Survey was conducted on America's top 15 airlines like Delta, Southwest and JetBlue.

The survey took in consideration factors like baggage handling, on-time performance, customer complaints among others. Out of the 15 airlines included, eight had improved, six had dipped and one was a new entrant. However, overall the U.S. airline industry was at its top in 2013. It had reached its highest point in 24 years.

The overall on-time performance had dipped to 78.4% from 81.8% in 2013. Even the rate of lost baggage was increased to 3.21 per 1000 passengers from 3.07. However the high point was the decline in the number of passenger complaints in 2013 as compared to 2012.

Virgin America received the highest overall performance score on the basis of various categories, like it lowest rate for lost baggage and second lowest rate of bumping or removing riders from paid seats. Virgin was followed shortly by JetBlue for the number two position. JetBlue maintained its spot for the second time this year. And the third position was scored by Hawaiian Airlines, which has upped its position as compared to 2012.
