Virgin Australia to launch daily Sydney-Darwin flights April 2

Virgin Australia recently announced that it will launch daily flights to Darwin from Sydney starting from April 2, 2012.

The airline said that it will deploy a Boeing 737 aircraft fitted with new business class cabins on the Sydney-Darwin route. The airline is offering introductory fares starting at $1,044.95 one-way for business class, which is now on sale.

Besides, the airline is also offering cheap tickets starting at $208.15 one-way for economy class.

Virgin Australia in a statement said that Sydney-Darwin flight schedule will complement the new services between Darwin and Singapore, which will be operated by Singapore Airline’s subsidiary Silk Air. The airline also stated that its schedule is quite focused on domestic traffic, as well as US and New Zealand connections.

The airline also disclosed that it is planning to open a new lounge at Darwin Airport in 2013.

Departure: 2.40 pm – Arrival: 7.25 pm
