Cheap Tickets to Baltimore

The city of Baltimore is one of the largest cities in the state of Maryland and the United States. It is one amongst the most favored cities by business travelers in the country. However, over the years the city has turned into a hotspot for travel and tourism. There are many enticing and invigorating experiences awaiting leisure travelers in the city. Located on the banks of the Patapsco River it offers breathtaking views of its scenic locales. On one side, the city seems to flourish under the nature’s care and on the other it appears to develop at a fast pace and mirrors the reflections of its industrial development. Irrespectively, the city sets a perfect backdrop for a fantastic family holiday, romantic trip, or an adventurous spree.

Many natural and manmade attractions grace the city’s limits. Travelers who may find it difficult to prepare their itineraries can visit our Baltimore City Guide. It is a great way to find the places of interest in the city. Some of the attractions listed include Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium, Baltimore Art Museum, B&O Railroad Museum, and The Fort McHenry National Monument. National Aquarium is a public aquarium located in the Inner Harbor neighborhood of the city. Inaugurated in August 1981, the aquarium continues to charm the young and old alike. At present over 660 species and 16, 000 animals call it their home. American bullfrog, Sunbittern, Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, sand tiger sharks, Moon jellyfish, and striped burrfish are some of the species housed here. The Fort McHenry National Monument is another primary attraction in this city. It is best known as the coastal star-shaped fort here. Popular for its role in the 1812 war, the fort is reminiscent of the British naval attack and the struggle thereafter.

Though the city is forever busy catering to the locals and the visitors, spring and fall are the two ideal seasons to visit the city. Temperatures during that time stay around 67F or 19C and offer the perfect ambiance to explore the plush locales of the bustling city.

Baltimore is popular for its seafood and primarily for its blue crabs. One can find numerous crab houses all over the place. However, other eating joints are equally popular. These are La Scala Ristorante (Italian), Petit Louis Bistro (French), Samos restaurant (Greek-Mediterranean), Charleston restaurant (New American), Byblos (Middle Eastern), and Ethel and Ramone’s (Creole). Samos restaurant is popular for its Greek and Mediterranean offerings. Some of the popular delicacies served here include Spanakopita made of herbs, feta cheese, and sautéed spinach baked in filo dough and Shrimp Souvlaki Platter comprising garlic shrimp sticks. These sticks are first grilled and then spiced with lemon-butter.

Many airlines operate service to the city. US Airways, United Airlines, American Airlines, AirTran Airways, Air Canada, British Airways, and Delta Air Lines are some of the prominent carriers operating out of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Budget travelers can easily find cheap hotels in Baltimore around the neighborhoods of Franklin Street, Charles Street, Whitehead Court, Eutaw Street, Washington Boulevard, and President Street. However, one can even find mid range and luxury hotels in the city.
