JetBlue Airways announces 9.7 percent increase in June traffic results

JetBlue Airways flights have shown a good showing in June this year. The airline recently announced its operational results for the month of June 2012. The airline sounded upbeat at the positive outcome.

Providing details about its preliminary traffic results this June, the airline said that its traffic grew 9.7 percent as compared to the same month in 2011. This is based on 4.8 percent increase in capacity.

The airline further reported that its load factor for the month was 85.9 percent, up 3.8 points as compared to June last year. The airline’s preliminary completion factor reported was 98.8 percent. Regarding the airline’s on-time performance, it was 77.4 percent.

The airline also stated that its preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for June this year increased 6 percent y-o-y.

JetBlue Airways currently operates out of its hubs at Boston, Orlando, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale. At present, the airline is operating a fleet of 123 Airbus A320 aircrafts. The airline is due to take the delivery of 30 Airbus A321 aircrafts starting in 2013.
