JetBlue Airways begins daily nonstop flights to Nassau from Westchester

JetBlue Airways recently announced the launch of its daily nonstop flights to Nassau from Westchester County Airport. The inaugural only international flight from Westchester County to the Bahamas departed on November 11, 2011 at 8.10 am.

JetBlue Airways started operating out of Westchester in March 2007. With the launch of its Nassau flights, the airline is now operating a total of 6 flights, including 5 to Florida. Besides, the airline also operates flights out of New York's JFK Airport to the Bahamas.

The airline is offering introductory fares of about US$99 one-way, depending on when the tickets are purchased. JetBlue Airways has deployed Embraer 190 aircraft on the route.

Mary St. George, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Strategy of JetBlue Airways, said that Westchester County and Fairfield Country have a very large base of customers. The Bahamas is surely a hot destination. Besides, Westchester Country is also a favorite destination for the Bahamians who throng in large numbers during the winters to have all the fun out here.

JetBlue Airways offers various facilities to its passengers onboard its flights, such as having a first bag checked for free, leather seats, free first-run movies on seatback televisions, complimentary snacks and drinks, and more coach legroom.
