JetBlue Airways interested to serve Naples Municipal Airport

JetBlue Airways flights are likely to operate out of Naples Municipal Airport in near future if the airline is able to make significant headway.
JetBlue Airways has recently written to the City of Naples Airport Authority expressing its keen interest to begin flights from here.

The City of Naples Airport Authority has also confirmed that a letter of interest has been received from JetBlue Airways in this regard.

The airline stated in its letter that it is planning to begin nonstop flights services to Naples from various airports in New York City. The airline has, however, not revealed the names of the airports from where it intends to operate flights to Naples.
 
Ted Soliday, Executive Director of City of Naples Airport Authority, said that the letter is indeed quite a positive development for the city.
However, the residents Old Naples and Aqualane Shores in Naples Municipal area are opposing the airline’s plans to begin operations out of here because of noise pollution and aesthetics concerns.

If JetBlue Airways finally succeeds in beginning flights operations from Naples, then almost a five-year void will be able to be filled.
Delta Air Lines was operating its flights between Naples and Atlanta, but ended it on October 1, 2007.
