JetBlue Airways moving to new Terminal A in San Juan

Puerto Rico’s largest carrier JetBlue Airways recently announced it will be soon moving its operation in San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport to the brand new Terminal A from Terminal C.

The airline in a statement said that it has reached an agreement with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority to move its operation to the newly-built Terminal A.

JetBlue Airways flights will start operating out of Terminal A at San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport with its scheduled move in the end of May this year.

The move will allow JetBlue Airways to efficiently accommodate its future growth at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, as well as operate within the new and larger facilities with additional counter space and gates.

Apart from increasing its gate positions and counter space, the new Terminal A will also be featuring modern technology, including a TSA In-line Baggage System and an advanced ticketing office to be operated by JetBlue Airways.

The airline disclosed that its international flights will continue to arrive at Terminal C.

JetBlue Airways first started flying to Puerto Rico in 2002. Currently, JetBlue Airways flights serve San Juan, Aguadilla and Ponce with service to 11 nonstop destinations, including 7 within the US and 4 within the Caribbean.

The airline stated it will be launching its flights to Newark from San Juan starting from April 25, 2012.
