JetBlue Airways opens new corporate headquarters in Long Island City

JetBlue Airways recently opened its new corporate headquarters in Long Island City, Queens. The airline’s innovative new home was opened at a ceremony attended by JetBlue Airway's President and CEO Dave Barger, New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Senator Charles E. Schumer and other top government leaders.

Dave Barger, President and CEO of JetBlue Airways, said that since the start up of the company in New York in 1998 and JetBlue Airways first flight from New York JFK in 2000, the airline’s home, heart and soul have always remained in New York.

He said that the airline has entered in its second decade of service. It has established its new office now, and will continue to serve seven Empire State destinations with more daily flights between New York City and upstate than any other airline. “JetBlue Airways is proud to stay here in New York, grow here in New York and continue being New York’s hometown airlines,” Barger said.

New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said that JetBlue Airways has played a huge role in making New York City the nation's number one travel destination.
