JetBlue Airways passenger traffic up 7.6% in September 2011

JetBlue Airways recently announced its operational results for the month of September 2011, and termed it as optimistic and positive. The airline reported that its passenger traffic grew 7.6% in September this year as compared to the same month in 2010.

The airline while providing other details stated that its capacity increased 8.7%. However, the load factor showed a decline of 0.8 points at 79.8% when compared to September last year. According to JetBlue Airways, its preliminary completion factor was 99.8%, while its on-time performance was 77.9%. The airline also revealed that its preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile increased 13% y-o-y as compared to the same month last year.

New York’s Hometown Airline JetBlue Airways operates from its hubs at Boston, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. The airline currently operates 650 daily flights connecting 66 US cities. The airline also recently operated flights to St. Croix and St. Thomas in US Virgin Islands. JetBlue Airways is also the first and only airline in the United States that introduced its own Customer Bill of Rights providing specific and meaningful compensation for its passengers who have otherwise been inconvenienced by service disruptions in any manner within the airline’s control.
