JetBlue Airways Q2 net income increases 11 percent

JetBlue Airways recently announced its operational results for the second quarter of 2012 and was optimistic at the outcome. The airline posted revenue o $1.3 billion in Q2 2012, an increase of 11 percent as compared to the same period in 2011. The airline disclosed that its net income increased to $52 million from $25 million in Q2 last year.

According to the airline, JetBlue Airways flights tickets posted good sale. The airline stated that the growth was spurred by capacity expansion on a continuous basis, marginally higher passenger fares and higher passenger traffic.

The airline in a statement said that its future outlook for the remaining period of 2012 continues to remain stable because of the growth in passenger traffic, particularly on the Caribbean and Latin American routes. The airline, however, at the same time cautioned that any further deterioration in the eurozone crisis or steep increase in crude oil prices could severely impact its forecast.
