JetBlue Airways traffic up 17.4 percent this February

JetBlue Airways recently announced its operational results for February 2012 and exuded optimism at the outcome.

In its preliminary traffic results this February, the airline revealed its passenger traffic increased 17.4 percent as compared to February 2011, on a capacity increase of 15.5 percent.

JetBlue Airways stated its load factor for February 2012 was 81.4 percent, a 1.3 points increase, when compared to the same month last year.

Regarding its on-time arrivals, the airline disclosed that its on-time performance was 84.3 percent, while its preliminary completion factor was 99.8 percent.

The airline’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for February increased 6 percent y-o-y.

The airline hoped that its PRASM is likely to increase between 6.5 and 7.5 percent y-o-y in March this year.

According to the airline, JetBlue Airways flights to Dallas-Fort Worth will begin operation in May 2012.

Currently, JetBlue Airways operates out of its main hubs in New York, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Orlando.
