Philippine Airlines wants to fly to popular European destinations
Philippines’ national flag carrier Philippine Airlines recently reiterated its intention that it wants to operate flights services to popular European destinations.
The airline in a statement said that it had always wanted to operate Philippine Airlines flights to popular European destinations, such as the UK, France and Spain. The airline also said that it is adding more aircrafts to its fleet and diversifying its route network.
Media reports also indicated that several European carriers are looking eagerly to expand their network in Asia, including the Philippines. The airlines from European countries are aiming to take advantage of the bright economic prospects in the Asian region.
The reports further said that the Civil Aeronautics Board of Philippines that several bilateral negotiations are lined up for the first quarter of 2013 for securing additional flying rights between the European countries and Philippines.
Carmelo Arcilla, Executive Director of CAB, said that the efforts are on despite the standing ban on all Philippine carriers’ flights to European destinations because of the concerns over the enforcement of safety rules by regulators on local airlines.
