Spirit Airlines activates Weather Buster Protection policy

Spirit Airlines recently activated its Weather Buster Protection policy to tackle itinerary changes owing to winter weather conditions in Chicago. The move of the airline is aimed at helping passengers and offer flexibility to make changes in their flights arising out of cold weather conditions.

Spirit Airlines usually initiates Weather Buster Protection policy around winter time in response to potential flight changes passengers might resort to.

Keeping in line with its Weather Buster Protection policy, Spirit Airlines already waived the change fee and difference in fare for passengers folding reservations for travel to/from or through affected locations on January 12, 2012. The policy was availed by only those passengers who rebooked their travel plans before the date and time of their original reservation, and travel on or before February 14, 2012.

However, the airline also said that those passengers who wanted to change their flight schedule beyond February 14, 2012 will not be required to pay a change fee, but will however have to pay the difference in fare.

The airline said that the locations included in this Weather Buster Protection policy related are those in Chicago.
