Spirit Airlines adding more flights from Myrtle Beach this summer

Spirit Airlines recently announced it will be adding more flights coming in and out of Myrtle Beach International Airport this summer.

The airline in a statement said that more Spirit Airlines flights will be added to Niagara Falls and Plattsburg in New York and to Fort Lauderdale in Florida starting from June this year.

These new flights will help Spirit Airlines fill the vacuum created by Direct Air, which abruptly stopped service in March this year, and has filed for bankruptcy.

The airline will be increasing flights from the existing two to three frequencies now per week between Myrtle Beach and Plattsburgh (serving the Montreal, Quebec area) from June 14 to September 1, 2012.

During the same period, the airline will also be increasing frequencies from two to three per week between Myrtle Beach and Niagara Falls (serving the Buffalo, New York and Toronto, Ontario areas).

Spirit Airlines has also revealed that it will increase flights between Fort Lauderdale and Myrtle Beach with two additional flights per week through September 4, 2012. The airline also stated that it will begin offering direct flights to Washington DC this summer.
