Spirit Airlines Free Spirit Program now has Dining Miles as well
Spirit Airlines’ Free Spirit frequent flyer program members now have every reason to cheer. With the airline’s loyalty programs now comes additional benefit as well. Free Spirit members are now being provided an additional avenue for earnings miles as it has added Dining Miles to Free Spirit program.
Free Spirit members are allowed to redeem their miles through some of the earning partners of Spirit Airlines, including Choice hotels, Hertz, and the Free Spirit MasterCard. The miles can however be redeemed only for Spirit Airlines flights. The members are required to redeem their miles after paying fees within 180 days of departure. The members have to remain cautious as the miles expire after just three months of inactivity, unless the program-linked MasterCard is used for making at least one purchase every month.
Spirit Airlines has tied up with Rewards Network for offering the benefits of Dining Miles. The Rewards Network is a company that exclusively manages the dining-miles feature of major U.S. airlines and hotel programs. Through the Dining Miles program, Free Spirit members will now be able to earn up to five miles per $1 spent at more than 10,000 participating restaurants.
However, with other dining-miles programs, the members are first required to register their credit cards. It is only after this that any qualifying dining charges, including tax and tip, would automatically generate miles to the user’s account.
