Spirit Airlines launches flights from Minneapolis to Chicago and Las Vegas
Spirit Airlines recently announced the launch of its new direct flights to Chicago and Las Vegas from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Spirit Airlines flights started operations from the Twin Cities to both Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Las Vegas International Airport starting from May 31, 2012.
The airline in a statement said that the new flights to Chicago and Las Vegas from Minneapolis-St. Paul will allow passengers to connect to an additional 20 airports across the United States.
According to the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Spirit Airlines is the fourth new carrier to add service at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport since 2008.
Spirit Airlines said that it will be operating flights out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s Terminal 2, which was until now dominated by hometown Sun Country Airlines.
Spirit Airlines is known to operate flights at quite low fares. The ultra low-cost carrier is also known to charge fees from its passengers for carry-on bags and boarding passes.
