Spirit Airlines November 2011 passenger traffic up 5.2 percent

Spirit Airlines recently announced its operational results for November 2011 amid optimism. The airline reported its preliminary traffic results for the month as well as an update on its present business conditions.

The airline in a statement disclosed that its passenger traffic (revenue passenger miles) increased 5.2 percent in November 2011 as compared to the same period last year. The airline further said that its load factor for November this year also increased 1.1 points to 85.7 percent y-o-y.

Spirit Airlines also analyzed its present business situation and said that it is estimating its Q4 load factor to be in the 85-86 percent range on a capacity increase of approximately 5.3 percent y-o-y. Besides, the airline also stated that it hopes that its Q4 2011 total revenue per ASM (RASM) will increase 18-20 percent y-o-y, which if achieved as per speculation would able to garner a total revenue of approximately US$269 million to US$273 million.

The airline also currently estimates Q4 2011 cost per available seat mile (CASM) to be between 10.27 cents and 10.32 cents with CASM excluding fuel to be between 6.04 cents and 6.09 cents.
