Spirit Airlines stops Charleston-Fort Lauderdale flights, connects to Myrtle Beach

Passengers will not be able to buy Spirit Airlines flights tickets for travel between Charleston and Fort Lauderdale as the airline has stopped flying on this route.

The airline recently announced it has stopped operating Spirit Airlines flights on Charleston-Fort Lauderdale route effective from June 13, 2012.
Spirit Airlines in a statement said that after stopping direct flight services on Charleston-Fort Lauderdale route, it has now launched new direct nonstop flights between Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
 
The airline stated that flights between Charleston and Myrtle Beach will be a seasonal service and will continue until November 2, 2012. However, the airline, which stopped direct flights between Charleston and Fort Lauderdale, said that it will be now operating flights to Fort Lauderdale via Myrtle Beach, which will stop operating from September 5, 2012.

According to the airline, the passenger traffic to Fort Lauderdale had been strong this spring, but last winter the direct flights to Fort Lauderdale did not perform as per expectations.
