JetBlue Airways August passenger traffic increases

JetBlue Airways recently announced its operational results for the month of August 2011. The airline reported a robust traffic for the month saying that the passengers taking JetBlue Airways flights to various cities within the United States has increased 5.8% in August 2011 as compared to the same month in 2010.

The airline reported a capacity increase of 4.6%. It also said that its load factor for the month was 87.3%, up 0.9 points as compared to the same month last year. The airline said that its completion factor was 93.0%, while its on-time performance was 61.6%.

JetBlue Airways further reported that its passenger revenue per available seat mile increased 7% for August 2011 y-o-y.  The airline hopes that its passenger revenue per available seat mile would increase between 6 to 8% y-o-y.
