Spirit Airlines reduces Florida flights for hurricane season

Spirit Airlines recently announced that it is reducing a number of flights to Florida from September to early November to tackle low demands for flight services during the Florida hurricane season as well as back-to-school time. The destinations served in Florida include Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Fort Myers and Tampa.

The airline said that even though it will reduce overall number of flights, it has at the same time decided to deploy larger aircrafts to Atlantic City International Airport to serve its Florida route starting in November.

Spirit Airlines in a statement said that there will be more seats despite slightly fewer flights into second half of November. There will be virtually no difference as such, the statement said. The airline said that it will replace its 145-seat A319 aircraft with 178-seat A320s and 218-seat A321s.
