Spirit Airlines service to help Pennsylvania communities to connect to Denver

Spirit Airlines recently disclosed that two smaller Pennsylvania communities are looking out to develop their own local air service needs with federal government assistance and eager to seek the services of the airline.

Ray LaHood, US Transportation Secretary, recently announced grants amounting to US$700,000 to assist two smaller Pennsylvania communities to develop own solutions to local air service needs and improve their airline service.

US Department of Transportation’s Small Community Air Service Development Program assistance was given to two Pennsylvania communities – Harrisburg and Latrobe – among 29 communities across US.

A grant of US$500,000 was received by Harrisburg as a revenue guarantee and for marketing for low-fare westbound service that targets Denver.

Another Pennsylvania community Latrobe also received a grant of US$200,000 which it will use for marketing assistance to expand Spirit Airlines service to Denver.
