SriLankan Airlines increasing capacity on Mumbai route by March

Sri Lanka’s flag carrier SriLankan Airlines recently announced that it plans to increase its capacity on the Mumbai route and will be deploying a new aircraft on the route.
Besides Mumbai, the airline also hopes to increase its capacities on other Indian routes and continue to offer low fares to its passengers.
Lalith Peiris, SriLankan Airlines’ Area Manager – Maharashtra, said that the airline is mulling to deploy a new aircraft on the Mumbai route. The airline will be replacing its existing A320s with four A340s by March this year. The new aircrafts will offer flatbed seats in business class, besides increasing capacity in the economy class.
SriLankan Airlines has also indicated that it will restart its flights to Calicut and Goa. Flight operations to Calicut and Goa were stopped by the airline in 2008.
The airline also plans to introduce flights to Ahmedabad from Colombo.
Currently, SriLankan Airlines is operating 77 flights every week to Indian cities, such as Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, and offers exciting flight deals more often.
