Volaris begins nonstop flights to Orlando from Guadalajara

Low-cost Mexican carrier Volaris has started operating its nonstop flights to Orlando International Airport from Guadalajara. The twice weekly roundtrip flights between the two cities started operating from November 18, 2014.

The airline will be making use of two versions of Airbus aircrafts to operate flights on the route. These aircrafts include a 174-seat Airbus A320 and a 144-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. This is its first ever service to Orlando from Guadalajara.

Until now, Orlando was the only city in Florida to be connected to a Mexican city. Volaris introduced its first flight to Orlando from Mexico City in the year 2012. The airline initially began serving Orlando-Mexico City route with twice weekly flights services. However, the route has since been expanded and the airline is presently offering four flights per week between the two cities.

With the addition of new flights between Guadalajara and Orlando, the total number of destinations being presently served by Volaris in the United States will now go up to eight.

Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, said that the airport’s primary objective is to increase travel options for the residents of Central Florida so that they can get seamless access to several international destinations. He said that with the expansion of flights services by Volaris, the leisure and business travelers from the region will stand to benefit immensely.

Brown further said that Orlando International Airport is the only airport in the State of Florida to allow Volaris to conduct its flights services to Mexico.
