All Emirates A380 fleet now Wi-Fi enabled

Middle East leading carrier Emirates recently announced its entire A380 fleet is now being provided Wi-Fi service onboard all its flights through its connectivity provider OnAir.

Passengers taking Emirates flights on Airbus A380 aircrafts are being offered internet connections with the help of Wi-Fi service onboard their flights.

The Wi-Fi service was officially launched at the end of 2011, and now the entire A380 fleet of the airline has been connected with the service.

Emirates in a statement said that it will start deploying OnAir’s GSM service from July this year. This will be the first combined Wi-Fi and GSM deployment on the A380 aircrafts.

Patrick Brannelly, Emirates’ Vice President Corporate Communications Product, Publishing, Digital and Events, said that it is a proud moment for Emirates to provide a premier in-flight experience, including internet connectivity through Wi-Fi to the passengers.

Brannelly said that the passenger feedback about the OnAir Wi-Fi service is also excellent and hoped that same feedback on mobile phone service is also awaited after it is deployed.
