This year the festival was held at a different venue to the Beurshalle centre on‘t Zand, from its earlier venue at the iconic town hall at Belfort in the heart of Bruges.

This year over 77 breweries participated in the BAB Bruges Beer Festival. The visitors got the opportunity to taste 350 types of beer. This included 54 beers that were introduced in the year 2013. The visitors were offered 27 new types of beer introduced during this year’s festival itself. Among other highlights at the festival included demonstration of culinary skills by Bruges chefs using beer, and debates and lectures attended by renowned beer professionals and brewers. Many restaurants in Bruges also took advantage of the festival to offer discounts on food and beers.

Christmas Beer Festival
The Christmas Beer Festival is held in the picturesque village of Essen, which is located nearby the Dutch border to the north of Antwerp. This annual event is traditionally held during mid-December. This festival offers a fantastic chance to the local Belgians and tourists to taste a wide selection of Belgian Christmas and winter beers.

The visitors can utilize the moment to the fullest by tasting different types of special, wood-matured beers.
