Spirit Airlines adding nonstop flights between Phoenix-Mesa and Chicago

Spirit Airlines recently announced it will be adding nonstop flights services to Chicago from Phoenix-Mesa this year.

The airline in a statement said that Spirit Airlines flights between Chicago and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport would be seasonal service.

The airline stated that the seasonal service between Phoenix-Mesa Gateway and Chicago would start from November 8, 2012 and continue up till April 24, 2013.

The announcement by the airline has come barely a week after the City of Mesa broke ground for the Chicago Cubs on a $99 million spring training complex.

Michael Pewther, Senior Sales Director of Spirit Airlines, said that the main reason for starting the additional service is the spring training complex.

According to the airline, the spring training complex is likely to be completed on schedule for the 2014 spring training season.
