Spirit Airlines declares December 2011 operational results

Spirit Airlines announced its preliminary traffic results for December 2011 amid optimism. The airline said that its traffic in terms of revenue passenger miles in December last year grew 8.6 percent as compared to the same month in 2010.

Providing further details, Spirit Airlines disclosed that its capacity in terms of available seat miles (ASM) increased 9.5 percent. The load factor reported a decrease of 0.6 points when compared to December 2010. The airline said that the load factor from December 2011 was 82.8 percent.

The airline has estimated that its total revenue per available seat miles (RASM) for Q4 2011 increased approximately 21 percent when compared to the same period in 2010.

Spirit Airlines presently operates more than 175 daily flights to over 45 destinations throughout the US, Caribbean and Latin America.
