Emirates Airline launching first A380 service to DFW from Oct 1

Emirates Airline has announced it will be launching its first Airbus A380 flight service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from October 1, 2014. This will be the largest commercial aircraft of its type to be used by Emirates to operate daily flights from Dubai International Airport, its hub.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will now be Emirates’ 28th destination in the world where it is operating A380 aircraft. Presently, Dallas airport is the fourth-busiest in the world. Other U.S. cities where the airline is already conducting A380 superjumbo services include Los Angeles and New York.

Emirates Airline started its first flight to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 2012. The airline served Dubai-Dallas/Fort Worth route with the help of a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The airline became the first carrier to offer nonstop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth to Middle East. Emirates has so far transported above 370,000 passengers on this route.

According to the airline, its Airbus A380 aircraft to be operated on Dubai-Dallas/Fort Worth route would be configured in three classes – First Class, Business Class and Economy Class – with a seating capacity of 489 passengers. The aircraft will be equipped with 399 Economy Class seats, 76 business class tickets and 14 First Class Private Suites.

Emirates Airline would be providing Wi-Fi access on board the A380 flights across all cabin classes. Among other amenities to be offered include state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system ‘Ice Digital Widescreen’ with up to 1,600 channels of on-demand entertainment, and freshly prepared gourmet meals.

Emirates Airline will be operating A380 service on a daily basis. The flight will depart from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at 12.35 pm and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 12.20 pm the next day. The return flight will depart from Dubai at 2.45 am, and arrive at Dallas/Fort Worth at 9.45 am.
