To celebrate the 50th National Day anniversary of Kuwait, the Emirates Air will operate the A380 carriers as a regular commercial flight from 26th February 2011.
Flight EK 857 will depart Dubai at 02.55 pm and will arrive in Kuwait at 03.40 pm. The roundtrip flight EK 858 will leave Kuwait at 06.10 pm and will land in Dubai at 08.40 pm.
This new service will make Emirates the first airline to fly A380 superjumbo aircraft from Kuwait International Airport, which was inaugurated in 2008.
This not the first time that the airline has taken such a step of showcasing its superjumbo on special routes. Last year, Lufthansa Airlines introduced two A380 super jumbos on the Mallorca route, and Air France operated on the Paris-London route in summers on selected dates in 2010.
This is the second time that Emirates will be celebrating a nation’s National Day. Earlier, in 2009 the airline flew A380 to celebrate the 70th anniversary celebrations of Birmingham.
The airline possesses 15, A380 superjumbo aircrafts and has placed an order of 75 more. At present the carrier operates A380 to 12 destinations across the world cities that include London Heathrow, Paris, Seoul, Hong Kong, Sydney, Auckland, Toronto, Manchester, New York, Jeddah, Bangkok and Beijing.
