Emirates to operate A380 daily between Dubai and Johannesburg

Emirates Airlines will deploy its A380 aircraft over Dubai-Johannesburg route. The airline will operate daily flights from 1st October 2011 between the two cities. The launch of the daily service by A380 will be the first scheduled double-decker services to Africa.

As per Emirates, the launch is the result of airline’s record of an annual passenger growth of 12% from South Africa that came due to the bilateral agreement signed between the two nations.

The airline’s A380 aircraft will be configured into 14 private First Class Suites, 76 business class seats with lie-flat beds and 399 coach class seats.

Flights to Johannesburg will depart from Dubai at 04.40am and will arrive at O R Tambo International Airport at 10.50am. The round trip flight will then depart from Johannesburg at 02.10pm and will arrive in Dubai at 00.10am.

At present the airline operates a three times daily service to Johannesburg, a double daily service to Cape Town and daily flights to Durban.
