EVA Air to boost North America service with flights to Houston

Taiwan’s second-largest carrier EVA Air has decided to expand its flight network in North America with the launch of flights to various destinations and increasing frequencies on some of the existing routes.

Media reports recently said that the airline will be launching flights to Houston from Taoyuan effective from June 19, 2015. The flights will initially operate thrice weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, but will later on increase to four times per week starting from July 1. The increased frequencies will be on Tuesdays as well in addition to the existing schedule.

The reports also said that the airline will further expand its service with the addition of weekly flights to its Vancouver and Toronto routes from Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport. With the launch of additional flights from December 12, the total number of flights from the major Canadian cities will increase to five. The additional flights to the two destinations in Canada are being launched considering the growing travel demand on these routes.

With the launch of new services and increased frequencies, EVA Air will be operating a total of 63 weekly flights to North America from the existing 55 flights per week. The move of the airline to begin flights services between Taoyuan and Houston is aimed at offering flexible options to conveniently connect from the Southwestern region of the United States to Taipei and beyond to other important destinations throughout Asia. The Houston-Taoyuan route will be served with the help of the airline’s newly-acquired Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The 333-seat aircraft has been configured with 39 seats in Royal Laurel cabin (business class), 56 seats in Elite cabin (premium economy) and 238 seats in Economy Class.
