KLM, the Dutch legacy airline has launched an interesting and up-to-date feature to aid travelers with the facility to get an overview of their hand baggage dimensions that is permitted onboard. The newly launched augmented reality is available on the KLM app and is essentially a state-of-the-art technology that primarily focuses on eliminating the hassle customer faces over luggage allowances. The technology, in turn, races up the check-in process.
The AR technology utilizes a translucent KLM suitcase that builds up a virtual 3D image which appears real and can be interacted virtually. This enables the flyers to make a comparison of their own hand baggage and make any alterations more efficiently at home before flying, if required. The newly launched technology is obtainable on the IOS App store.
Pieter Groeneveld, senior vice president of digital for KLM commented, ‘by bringing up the benefits of AR technology, the airline has climbed a ladder in the field of digital service. With the help of AR hand baggage check, the travelers would be able to get a clear picture about the correct size of their hand baggage. With the introduction of the new service, we are looking forward to solve the demands of our valuable customers.’
It has been noted that the airline is not a stranger in launching pioneering technology in the interest of its passengers. In the previous year, KLM introduced a WhatsApp service, artificial intelligence Messenger bot as well as an interactive map of Amsterdam Schiphol airport.
