Spirit Airlines Online Boarding Passes

Come November 1st, 2011 and passengers of Spirit Airline would be charged a $5 fee for getting the boarding pass printed through the check-in agents. To avoid this fee, passengers can get their boarding passes printed online at home or at the internet kiosk, which would stay free till June 26th, 2012, from when the boarding pass would cost $1 each.

The carrier would also decrease the non-stop flights fare by $5 so that passengers don’t have to pay extra when they print out boarding passes from the airport’s check in. This will ensure that the price stays as much as it used to be earlier. As per Ben Baldanze, CEO and President Spirit, he wants to empower the customers to choose what is important to them. “We want to give them the ability to choose the extras they want without forcing them to pay for add-ons they don't want or need,"

The boarding pass would be chargeable per person and would be applicable on all international and domestic flights booked after 21st June, 2011 for travelling on or after 1st November, 2011. The fee would, however, be raised for areas where there is no Spirit check-in counters.
