Virgin Atlantic revamping premium cabin to fend off rivals

Virgin Atlantic Airways recently disclosed that it is making its best efforts to confront its immediate rivals British Airways and American Airlines.

The airline said that it is spending $158 million to revamp its premium cabin and stave off the challenges posed by its two rivals.

Virgin Atlantic flights will now offer a fresh menu in its Upper Class service from next month. The new menu will feature a cheese trolley, Lanson Black Label Champagne and afternoon tea.

Besides, the airline has also announced that it will open a bigger lounge at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport in March.

Despite odds, there have been extensive efforts to provide passengers with the best possible Virgin Atlantic Airways flight deals. The airline says that it is facing stiff competition on its core London-New York route after British Airways and American Airlines won antitrust immunity 18 months ago. Both the carriers will be starting a joint venture, and thus coordinate schedules and prices.
