The temperate weather that Barbados is home to, makes it an ideal location to book cheap tickets at any time of the year. However, the most popular months for travel to this idyllic island is during spring and summer months, especially for the Oistins Fish Festival held on Easter weekend each year. The weather is a bit warmer at this time and the beaches can become quite crowded. Cheap flights to Barbados might be hard to find at this time unless you book in advance. November through February tend to have the most affordable airline tickets as it is considered the rainy season, which is perfect since January is when the Barbados Jazz Festival is held. There are numerous flights to Barbados at this time and you will most likely find a better deal on accommodation and attractions as well.

The Sir Grantley Adams International Airport, located in Bridgetown, is the gateway for all flights. Most major American cities offer daily direct flights on budget-friendly airlines such as Continental and US Airways. There are also flights to Barbados available from Canada and the United Kingdom. In addition to swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving, many visitors take up a round of golf or explore the wide variety of wildlife and plant life on the island. Golfing is an excellent way to relax while on your Barbados vacation and there are many courses to choose from. Hitting the links is a great way to appreciate the stunning scenery away from the crowds at the beach. The Barbados Golf Club in Christ Church is the most popular and can be quite challenging.

Of course hitting the beach is a must-do while vacationing in Barbados. Brighton Beach is a family-friendly area with a large expanse of white sand and a gentle tide that is perfect for kids. Sandy Beach is another popular spot due to its calm waters and numerous places to grab a quick lunch. Scuba diving is also a great way to take in the natural beauty of the island. There are many sunken ships off the island as well as a sea filled of tropical fish and marine life. Carlisle Bay is one of the best places to go diving.

The Barbados Wildlife Reserve is also an excellent spot to appreciate the wildlife of the island. The animals here are kept in their natural habitats and many of them roam and fly freely around the reserve. The afternoon is often the best time to visit the reserve since the animals tend to be the most active at this time.
