Found in 1967, Air Burkina originally part owned by the Burkinabé government. Another partial owner of the airline was Air France and remaining was privately held. Air Burkina was privatized on 21 February 2001 after the demise of Air Afrique by the state of Burkina Faso. As a result, 56% of the shares were transferred to the AKFED / IPS consortium. The aim of the airlines was to bring about improvisation in aviation infrastructure.
