Leeward Islands Air Transport or LIAT is an Antigua based airline. The airline was established in the year 1956 and today flies to over 20 destinations across the Caribbean. Some of the cities served by the airline include Roseau, Santo Domingo,San Juan, Kingstown, Port of Spain, and Caracas. It operates out of its main hub in main base is VC Bird International Airport in St. John’s. Its other important bases include Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown, and Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain. It uses ATR 42-600, ATR 72-600, Bombardier Dash 8 100, and Bombardier Dash 8 300 aircrafts to operate service to destinations listed on its itinerary. It has a partnership alliance with Virgin Atlantic. The airline was awarded the Caribbean's Leading Budget / No Frills Airline by the World Travel Awards in 2007.
