Established in 1945and based in Jeddah, it operates out of its main hub in Jeddah-King Abdulaziz International Airport. Its other hubs include Dammam-King Fahd International Airport, Medina-Prince Mohammad Airport, and Riyadh-King Khalid International Airport. At present, it flies to about 90 destinations worldwide. Its fleet comprises aircrafts from Embraer E-170, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 747-400, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A321-200, and Airbus A320-200. It is  a member of Sky Team alliance. Its frequent flyer program is called Al-Fursan.
