Air France declared the launch of its service to Panama City starting November 25 this year. The move is looked at as the airlines bid to penetrate deeper into the Central and South America and The Caribbean markets.
The airliner is scheduled to operate three weekly flights from Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris. Customers can now book their Air France tickets to the new destination in Boeing 777-200. The airliner will comprise 309 seats of which 35 are for business class, 24 for Premium Economy and 250 for Economy class.
The new flights will run parallel to KLM, which makes daily trips on the Amsterdam-Schiphol route. This new service will benefit both Air France and KLM customers in the longer run. Flyers will get to choose from a variety of connections available at the Tocumen Airport of Panama City to Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
From next winter, Air France and KLM are set to increase the number of weekly flights to Panama to ten. They also intend to run 200 flights a week to 25 other destinations in Central and South America and the Caribbean.
This decision was taken in lieu of Panama’s economical expansion drive and seems to be motivated by the fact that more than 80 multinational companies have their head offices located here.
