AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of Southwest Airlines announced that it will be adding three new routes from Memphis Airport. With this addition AirTran flights will now connect Memphis, Tennessee to Orlando, Chicago and Baltimore.
Mark Luttrell, Shelby County Mayor praised this step taken by AirTran and said that these new flight additions will make Memphis more accessible. And now the city will see an increased in business as well as leisure travelers.
AirTran will fly to Chicago twice daily and once daily to Baltimore and Orlando. The fights will come into operation from August 11, 2013. At present the airlines flies five nonstop daily flights between Memphis and Atlanta.
