United Airlines has started offering lie-flat seats to its business class passengers flying on their domestic flights. Carrying forward the rage of lie-flat beds ongoing in the airlines industry, the airline had recently unveiled its Boeing 757-200s fitted with lie-flat seats in its business class section.
The Boeing 757-200s will be functional of United’s Premium Service operational between New York and its hubs namely San Francisco & Los Angeles. These Premium Service business class flights have been given a total new face and design. Features like personalized on-demand in-flight entertainment, USB ports, Wi-Fi connectivity have also been incorporated in these cabins.
United’s all new business class cabins will have 28 personalized cabins, replacing 26 reclining seats and 12 angled lie-flat seats. The first upgraded flight departed from Los Angeles to New York on March 18, 2013. As per the airline, this change has been done keeping in mind the intense competition growing in the American aviation industry and with an intention to offer premium passengers flying ion transcontinental routes something extra to match to their taste.
