Frontier Airlines in a recent announcement informed that it will have to discontinue its Trenton operation for a while. As per the information let out by the airline, they will be suspending their flights from September 9 through November 7, 2013 from New Jersey's Trenton-Mercer Airport.
Construction of a runway safety enhancement project prescribed by the Federal Government is the main reason behind this decision. In order to suit this construction the airline will temporarily interrupt all the 10 routes it is operation from the Trenton Airport.
Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President Commercial for Frontier Airlines said that affordable cheap flights operated out of Trenton will not be available to their valued customers for a while. And we at Frontier feel sorry for our valued customers for not being able to offer our services to them, but this is one situation which is not in the control of the airline. He further said that they understand that these safety upgrades are the necessity of the Mercer Airport and they will ensure to provide maximum cooperation.
