Virgin America to Begin Flights to Hawaii From 2015

by Richa G 16. April 2013 07:41

Virgin America recently announced its plans to fly to Hawaii. As per David Cush, CEO Virgin America, as soon as the airline gets its delivery of Airbus A320, it will spread its wings across Hawaii. The airline has taken the delivery of its first Sharklet fitted aircraft in March 2013.

Virgin America has placed order with Airbus for its new A320s, and is expecting its delivery by 2015. These new A320s are fitted with Sharklets, which help is reducing the drag and improve the fuel efficiency. 10 Airbus A330s fitted with Sharklets are expected to be delivered during 2015 and 2016.

Cush said that Virgin America at present does not operates cheap flights between the West Coast and Hawaii, as their present aircrafts are not equipped to handle flights on this route. This however would change once we get Sharklet equipped airplanes.
