No joint A380 flights by Air China, China Southern Airlines

There will be no joint A380 Air China flights in association with China Southern Airlines for now. Media reports recently indicated that the talks between Air China and China Southern Airlines over jointly operating Airbus A380 superjumbo aircrafts on long haul flights from Beijing has been shelved now.

China Southern Airlines is the biggest carrier in China by fleet size. Based in Guangzhou, China Southern Airlines is also the only Chinese carrier to operate a fleet of five A380 superjumbo aircrafts.After calling of talks with Air China, the Guangzhou-based China Southern Airlines has now decided to operate Airbus A380 aircrafts between Guangzhou and Sydney beginning from the latter half of 2013.

China Southern Airlines also operates flights between Guangzhou and Los Angeles as well as on other domestic routes.

The airline is expecting to take delivery of the first of its Boeing 787 aircraft as early as late May this year.
