by Richa G 23. July 2013 04:58

Allegiant Air, the low cost American airline has achieved the accomplishment of earning profits for tenth year in a row. The airline attained this milestone beating the volatile economy and fluctuating jet fuel prices.

Allegiant Air flights ferry passengers from small cities to holiday destinations in the country, its USP. The airline attributes its unconventional and niche routes as the reason for its success over these years.

The airline has diversified business interests in hotels, car rentals, show tickets and other leisure activities under the parent company Allegiant Travel Co. The airline also makes use of its additional business entities to earn millions in revenues via commissions.

It however, charges its customers for booking tickets online or using a credit card. Booking ones favorite seat in advance may cost the customers’ anywhere between $5 and $75, subjected to the flight duration. A bottle of water on Allegiant Air flight costs about $2.

The airline has been following this business model to earn profits and has done that tenth time in a row sending strong signals to competitors.
